Who doesn’t love them? And they’re super simple, too. This recipe calls for some walnuts, but they’re perfectly good without them too. Eat up!
INGREDIENTS:
- 125g butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 + 3/4 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 125g dark chocolate chips
- 60g walnuts, roughly chopped
METHOD:
- Preheat oven to 170°C
- Lightly grease some baking trays
- In a mixer, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla.
- Add the egg gradually, making sure it is mixed in well
- Add the flour and salt, mix well.
- Add the chocolate chips and walnuts, mix well.
- Make little balls of dough in your hands, about 3cm big or so
- Place the balls on a baking tray, leaving room for expansion
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until just starting to go golden
- This should yield about 45 cookies or so.
