Who doesn’t love them? And they’re super simple, too. This recipe calls for some walnuts, but they’re perfectly good without them too. Eat up!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 125g butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 + 3/4 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 125g dark chocolate chips
  • 60g walnuts, roughly chopped

METHOD:

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C
  2. Lightly grease some baking trays
  3. In a mixer, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla.
  4. Add the egg gradually, making sure it is mixed in well
  5. Add the flour and salt, mix well.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts, mix well.
  7. Make little balls of dough in your hands, about 3cm big or so
  8. Place the balls on a baking tray, leaving room for expansion
  9. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until just starting to go golden
  10. This should yield about 45 cookies or so.
